Dr. Richard Bowers is a licensed clinical psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist with over 30 years experience providing psychotherapy and psychological testing to children, adolescents and adults. He helps individuals with depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger problems and family problems. Many parents of unruly children have been able to restore peace in their homes and schools after working with Dr. Bowers. As a former special education and school psychology administrator, Dr. Bowers often consults in matters relating to special education eligibility, 504 eligibility, school discipline concerns, IEP’s and Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE). He has taught many courses in psychology and statistics at the graduate and undergraduate level. Along with his clinical practice, Dr. Bowers has served in numerous leadership positions including President of the Virginia Psychological Association, President of the Virginia Academy of School Psychology, Treasurer of Iowa School Psychology Association and the Virginia Psychological Association, and President of the Virginia Psychological Foundation. Dr. Bowers is a member in good standing with the American Psychological Association, the Virginia Psychological Association, the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists and the Virginia Academy of School Psychologists.
