Dr. Markowitz is board certified in child and adolescent as well as adult psychiatry. He has worked as Medical Director of the Beckman Center for Mental Health Services in Greenwood, SC, Medical Director of several child and adolescent inpatient units in Richmond, VA, and Medical Director of an adolescent day treatment program in Fredericksburg, VA. He has also worked as unit director of residential programs for adolescents at Poplar Springs Hospital in Petersburg and United Methodist Family Services in Richmond. Throughout, he continued to provide outpatient services to children and adults in the Richmond area.

Dr. Markowitz accepts new patients between the ages of 3 and 59. Areas of interest include adult and child ADHD, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. However, he accepts patients with a wide array of mental health issues.
